Tall Order

Walk along Serenity's path lines with shimmering reflection pools. Listen to the rippling water as the wind gently blows. Relax and enter a state of calmness. Immerse yourself in your own thoughts. Reflect on the past, present, and future as you near Serenity Tower's entrance. Soaring above, a structured sequence littered with abnormality as thoughts often are. But why take the straightest route? Explore what lies beyond. Follow the gravel paths that pull off the main walkway. Sit along the many reflection pools and ponder. Connect to nature with the abundant plant life. From dawn till dusk, the sun radiates light off the reflective shades, back down to the pools below, paying homage to the glistening water. A top Serenity Tower lies the large gathering space with an imposing mass hovering above. The gathering space is a place in which visitors and residents alike can view the scenery beyond. Welcome to Serenity Residential Tower.

Serenity Tower's entry imitates the appearance of sparse mass holding up an impossible amount of material. The public realm of the entry is held between two cores that reach a height of 32 feet, allowing for a feeling of grandeur. As one moves upward there are three types of gathering spaces: Intimate, Medium, and Large. Intimate in the form of balconies; Medium as an event space on the 16th floor, and large spaces resting atop the two cores. At Serenity's top, a large mass that appears to float has a grand skylight carved away.

This project was an exploration of abstraction, organizational methodologies, model-making techniques, and integrative design. Through a structured approach, I developed a deeper understanding of spatial composition, materiality, and design cohesion, enhancing my ability to translate conceptual ideas into tangible architectural forms.
